Today was all sorts of exciting for Kairi, i guess. It was just a normal day and Kairi was just doing what she does . . . being a danger baby and climbing on things that she shouldn't. She got on this little stool, about a foot high, and she was standing on it. I told her to be careful and to get down and about five seconds later she fell down and hit the back of her head on the wall and tile floor! i picked her up and she almost passed out and about five seconds after that she started throwing up and got a little bloody nose.
I had Bekah go and wake up Jake and he called the hospital and they had us take her in right away. They checked her out and felt her head to see if she cracked it at all. They said she was just fine other than a mild concussion. She has no brain damage whatsoever, which is good! They gave us two choices though.
- They can scan her head and make completely sure that she has no internal bleeding or anything.
- We could take her home after an hour of observation and observe her from home for the next twenty four hours!
We decided to keep her there for an hour and we got to take her home! She can only eat jello and drink clear liquids for the next eight hours! My poor little Kairi! I hope that everything is okay with her and nothing else goes wrong!
My name is Brittany. I have been married to Jacob Gerlach for a little over two years! We have a beautiful girl named Kairi Nikole and she is almost two years old now! We are expecting our next, a boy, named Aiden Jacob sometime next month! We are all excited for him to finally be here!
I wonder how Kairi will act when Aiden comes, i hope she'll be a good big sister to her brother! She always walks around with her babies and tries to feed them and she pats their backs and puts them to sleep. How cute. Haha. Kairi is quite the little sneak though! Yesterday morning she finally figured out how to open doors and she left her bottle in grandpa's room, put buttons in the toilet and threw grandma's jewelry all over the floor! I tried finding that bottle all day and i could not find it anywhere! So now Kairi has a lock on her door!
Jacob is in the national guard. He has now been in for three years and two months now. It's been really hard for us. He's gone quite a bit. He is gone one weekend a month, has to go to a two week training once a year, last year he went to Cambodia for three months, in 2009 he went to AIT training and jump school and was gone for four months . . . the first four months of our marriage and he got home for the last month and a half of my pregnancy . . . and in 2008 he went to basic training for two months! It's hard being away from each other, but that's life. One day he'll be out and he won't be sent away anywhere!
I stay home with Kairi and take care of her and play with her all day long! She is very tiring . . . especially with me being nine months pregnant! I write a journal for myself and Aiden and Kairi. I make scrapbooks and i read. I'm also writing a book . . . that i'm finishing very slowly. Haha.
